Projector Lamps To Convey Yourself

Projectors come in handy when presenting or conveying information or images to large groups of people. Projector lamps make very important components of the projectors because they are responsible for the image transfers on the large screen for viewership. The lamps are versatile and have varying purposes too. Whereas the lamps are majorly used in business and educational settings, there are people who still use them for filmstrip viewing on large screens or for home theater purposes.

The projector lamps can project films, images and even slides drawn on transparent plastic sheets too. They have intense light bulbs that produce the light needed for the purpose. The bulbs shine on small mirrors within the projectors, making it possible for the images to be transferred through the air onto the screen.

Projector lamp types

The fact about projector lamps is that they are developed for specific projector models. Generally there are three main types of lamps available today.

Overhead lamps – Overhead projectors have flat bases underneath powerful light bulb. On the flat glass surfaces overhead transparency sheets can be placed and written on directly using wet erase overhead pen. They can also be fed to a laser printer so that info from programs like spreadsheets can be printed directly. Overhead projector lamps are responsible for sending the images to special mirrors that enlarges and projects them on a screen. Overhead lamps vary in wattage, cost and lifespan. Some models make it possible for users to switch lumens and this is a feature that lengthens lifespan of the lamps and at the same time lowers expenses. The overhead lamps are the most affordable types in the market.

Slide lamps – Slide projectors use high powered and intensely hot halogen lamps to project slides. The projectors have special openings that can hold 35mm slides. Images on the slides are then enlarged and projected onto large screens. The slide projector lamps are commonly used in classroom settings where camera images are needed as demonstration materials.

Multimedia lamps – The multimedia projectors are very expensive because they have the ability to transfer images from film reels, DVD and even videotapes. The lamps are very common in home movie and movie theater systems. They can last for as many as 4,000 hours, but then again this will depend on the brand that you choose. To improve projector efficiency, you should choose lamps that are energy efficient, low-watt and inexpensive.

When buying the most suitable projector lamps for your application, you should also consider getting other components that improve the performance of the lamps. Some of the essential components include condensers, reflectors, blowers and base mirrors. Bulbs cannot be forgotten because they are the main components of the lamps and they come with options like metal halide, halogen bulbs and ultra-high performance bulbs. To make the right lamp choice, consider the projector type, the presentation requirements and brand. Different lamp brands come with different styles and features so it is helpful to compare before you choose the most suitable lamps for your projection needs.
