The first spot in the final of Euro 2016 is on the line Wednesday, as two Real Madrid stars aim to lead their national teams to glory.

Gareth Bale and Wales are in the semifinals at a major tournament for the first time in history. This was their deepest run and first appearance since the 1958 World Cup, and a 3-1 win over Belgium has Wales the unlikely underdog of Euro’s four remaining teams.

It could be more challenging against Portugal, as Wales are missing have two players out with yellow card suspensions. Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies have been key contributors during Wales’ run, and manager Chris Coleman will have to find a way to replace the pair in his lineup.

Portugal could be without defender Pepe, who is dealing with a thigh injury. Ronaldo is the first person to play in three Euro semifinals, and can return to the final for the first time since Portugal hosted the tournament in 2004.

Despite their repeated success, Portugal have yet to truly excel in France. They haven’t won a game at Euro 2016 in the regulation 90 minutes, and needed shootout wins over Croatia and Poland to reach Wednesday’s match.
